Staff were very friendly and helpful with the area and recommendations. Col. Fry Room was beautifully decorated, the fireplace really made a difference. The 3 course Breakfast was delicious every morning. Lots of places on their property to walk around or sit and relax and watch the beautiful scenery. Highly recommend this for anniversaries or romantic getaways. Very peaceful and quite. Not having a tv in the room was great. They really spoil you here. will be back!

Cool little place. Stayed the night in the Washington room and it was very nice and the jacuzzi was a cool addition. The included breakfast was good as well. Definitely a little quirky but I think that’s what made it cool. Would recommend and will definitely be back.

We have stayed at the Meander Plantation at least 15 times in the past 12 years. I guess in a way that says it all. If you want quiet, lovely views, a place to walk, convenience to historic sites, wineries, etc. this is the place. Now under new owners we expect to see some changes but we hope the cottages with wood burning fireplaces will not convert to gas as this is a big plus for us. The new trail, marked to the cemetery is very welcome. If I had to find fault I would say the cottages need more hooks for clothes and wardrobes that were actually big enough for hangers otherwise all good.

We stayed in the Summer Kitchen and found all in order and the historic details fascinating! We ordered a picnic for that night and was delighted when the basket came with Burgundy Braised Lamb Shanks, complete with blueberry goat cheese salad and cheese cake dessert! It was delicious! The bed was super comfortable with superior bedding and the soaking tub was divine! Breakfast the next morning was great as well! We enjoyed roaming the property and learning it's history! Go check it out!

We booked a 2 night stay at the Meander Inn and were looking forward to staying in an old southern plantation B & B. Our first frustration was in having trouble getting call backs from messages left with the inn keeper's voice mail. We called several times on 2 different days to arrange the dinner basket the inn offered for our evening meal on the first night. We never received a single returned call. I also emailed and did finally get a response from that. The inn was nice and the room spacious. Breakfast were good. We didn't receive an explanation about the heating and cooling system in our room and as it was cold in the room, I had to figure out how to get the heat on myself. It was on a thermostat outside the room in the hall so not just something I could adjust in the room. Several lights and lamps in the room didn't work or had burned out bulbs. Noticeable sewer odor in bathroom. Lots of insects in our room. I realize there are going to be some quirks with an old home such as this, but some of our issues were due to what I would call inattention to detail. When you pay over $300 a night, you expect a certain level of comfort which was lacking in our experience.
